Plants that thrive in Cobb County
Here on Plants That Thrive in Cobb County, I have put photos of plants we have had a lot of success with. 95% of the photos are from our yard.
When we design a yard for a customer, we don’t put in any plants that we haven’t grown ourselves. Over the last ten years, we have grown over 1,000 plants and have observed them carefully all year round. We’ve transplanted some of them several times to find the best conditions. We know how big all the plants get, and I can tell you quite a few get bigger than what’s written on the label!
We know which plants need a lot of water, and which ones need very little. We know when to prune, how much to prune, and when not to. We know which type of fertilizer each plant needs. We provide you with all this information after we finish the installation. You will receive a book with each plant’s photo, telling you where the plant is located in your garden, how big it gets, why we chose it, when to prune, how to water, and how and when to fertilize.
When it comes to maintaining a yard after the installation, one thing we have learned is that it’s very important for the crew performing the work to speak English so the customer can communicate with them. Once you fill your garden with plants, you know how you want them to look and you need to be able to convey that to the crew doing the work. Our workers are American.
